Etymology

j. bilhan is my chosen moniker since 2018. The word bilhan derives from the Hebrew word Bilhah interpreted as terror or calamity. src The name bilhan can take on varied meanings. In my interpretation, I envision myself as the remains of tragedy—an object post-trauma. From a sociological perspective, I think of bilhan as the Anthropocene.

Initially, I decided to write the name in lower case as a protest against hierarchy. After this decision, I discovered herman de vries also chose the same. Hence, he is a my comrade.
